Trump asked the group's manager to bring the boys to meet 1 of his daughters and they were asleep at the time and Trump allegedly insisted they be woken up

Liam Payne has alleged that Donald Trump once kicked One Direction out of Trump Tower after they refused to meet his daughter - because they were asleep.

The group, which has been on hiatus since early 2016, was staying at New York City's five-star Trump Tower, presumably for a concert.

'Trump actually kicked us out of his hotel once,' Payne, 23, told Rollacoaster Magazine.

'You wouldn't believe it. It was about [meeting] his daughter. He phoned up our manager and we were asleep.

'He said "well, wake them up" and I was like "no" and then he wouldn't let us use the underground garage. Obviously in New York we can't really go outside. New York is ruthless for us.'

Payne was likely referring to the mob of people that would swarm around the group if they were forced to use the hotel's public entrance.

It is not clear whether Trump would have been referring to Ivanka or Tiffany.

Payne said: 'So [Trump] was like, "OK, then I don't want you in my hotel." So we had to leave.'
