A 12-inch water main break happened at South Patrick Drive and Jackson Avenue on Thursday causing water pressure to drop affecting those living in from DeSoto Parkway north to Pineda Causeway.
Crews with Melbourne Public Works have been working since then to get it fixed and a precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until the water is declared safe.
The city of Melbourne advised that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes, be boiled until further notice.
