Florida Deputies Find Fugitive, and a Box of Chocolates... er, Weed

WAUCHULA -- Life is like a box of chocolates... but you should know that if you see a heart-shaped chocolate box on Valentine's Day, it should have chocolate inside.

But detectives in Wauchula looking for a wanted fugitive found a chocolate box full of baggies, each containing about 19 grams of marijuana.

Deputies with the Hardee County Sheriff's Office drug task force were helping the U.S. Marshal Service locate Mario Orosco (pictured), wanted on seven felony drug warrants out of Pennsylvania. They went to a house on Saunders Street Tuesday. There was music and laughter coming from inside. But everything went silent when deputies knocked. No one came out for about half an hour. Then, they say, a woman named Janesse Orosco came out, saying she just woke up. Detectives were allowed to search the house but found nothing. They came to the conclusion that the woman helped Orosco hide in the attic.

They tore in, found Orosco and arrested him. Then they noticed the marijuana smell coming from a box in the kitchen.

Inside, 17 they found small baggies, squeezed into the settings where chocolates normally go.

Janesse Orosco is charged with marijuana and paraphernalia position as well as resisting and obstructing an officer without violence. Jazmine Venegas also faces drug charges.
