"Unprecedented layoffs" announced by Rosen Hotels

Rosen Hotels and Resorts in Orlando is announcing what it's describing as "unprecedented layoffs" as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

"It is with deep personal regret that I announce a significant downsizing of staff at Rosen Hotels and Resorts," Rosen President and COO Harris Rosen said in a very personal statement.

"Never in the 46-year history of my company would I have envisioned such a drastic decision." But Rosen goes on to say, "it is clear that these are truly unprecedented times."

The layoffs will take effect at the end of the month. Rosen employed more than 4,000 people at its nine hotels before the pandemic.

Rosen concluded his statement on a hopeful note looking forward to when visitors and meetings return to Orlando.

"We then look forward to re-engaging with our loyal associates to serve our leisure guests and meetings attendees with the same unparalleled service standard expected at a Rosen Hotel."
