Federal Reserve To Make Announcement After Policy Meeting

After two days of meetings, The Federal Reserve is expected to make some new announcements at its afternoon news conference. Don't expect interest rates, which are near zero now, to go up for at least a year. But Bankrate's Greg McBride expects the FED to announce it will start dialing back bond purchases before January thanks to soft economic data and a less-than-expected increase in consumer prices. He he says mortgage rates could rise in the next few months because of inflation. If you are thinking about refinancing your home, now is the time to do it so you can lock in at a good rate.
