BRADENTON -- A onetime teacher at IMG Academy is out of a job and facing criminal charges, after Manatee deputies charged her with having sex with an underage student.
Manatee deputies say 38-year-old Taylor Anderson communicated via texting, direct messaging and social media over several weeks. They say Anderson picked the student up an an apartment in July and went to the beach, where they had sex in her car. IMG notified the sheriff's Crimes Against Children Unit, and confronted the student about the relationship. An admission followed, and Anderson was terminated.
Deputies say Anderson refused to talk with them, and they obtained a search warrant. Evidence from her cell phone led to three arrest warrants.
IMG Academy is a private school that focuses on developing high school students into collegiate-level athletes.
