The DeSantis administration today receiving a cease and decist from the U.S. Department of Education over withholding funds from Broward County Schools amid the ongoing mask mandate debate. Earlier this week, Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran received warning that financial sanctions against Broward and Alachua Counties imposed by his office would result in federal consequences.
Regardless, the state pulled funds received by the counties to replace funding previously withheld by the state.
