Psaki Calls DeSantis Response to Monoclonal Ban "Crazy"

WASHINGTON -- The White House wasted no time in responding, after Governor DeSantis called out the feds for shutting down all treatments of COVID with monoclonal antibodies across the nation.

The FDA says monoclonal antibody treatments by Regeneron and Eli Lilly don't work against the Omicron variant, based on its data.

Press Secretary Jen Psaki asked a reporter to "step back here to realize how crazy this is, a little bit." She maintains that the federal government isn't focusing on any one treatment, saying they have provided tens of thousands of antivirals to Florida that "do work" against Omicron was well as Delta. She says the treatments the governor promotes are "not effective" and have "side effects."

"We've seen... a range of steps or pushes from social media platforms and elected officials... pushing things that don't work. We know what works, vaccines and boosters... and we are providing those to Florida."

The feds say the Regeneron and Eli Lilly treatments are ineffective against the dominant Omicron variant.

Governor DeSantis says in a statement that "Without a shred of clinical data to support this action, Biden has forced trained medical professionals to choose between treating their patients or breaking the law." The FDOH shut down all treatment sites in response.
