Miami-Dade Price Gouging Hotline Operational

In case business owners try to cash in on our Hurricane Ian fears, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Price Gouging Hotline is up and running.

Her team of inspectors will respond to all complaints.

“Price gouging is a criminal offense. The Governor has declared a state of emergency for the State of Florida and we are joining efforts with the Miami-Dade Police Department to combat any greedy individuals and businesses that may use Hurricane Ian to take advantage of our community’s fundamental needs by unnecessarily hiking prices of commodities to outrageous levels,” commented State Attorney Fernandez Rundle. "Greedy actions will not be tolerated during these stormy days ahead nor after this event wherein a state of emergency has been declared.”

They just ask that you give them as much information as you can about the business, including business name and address, and what you feel is price gouging including pictures and receipts.

The information can be emailed to Hotline@miamisao.com. People can also call the State Attorney’s Hotline at 305-547-3300.
