The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after two people were injured when a Southwest Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing due to severe turbulence on Wednesday.

The flight was headed from New Orleans to Orlando when it was diverted to Tampa, with the captain requesting paramedics be on stand-by for its arrival.

A passenger and a flight attendant were transported to an area medical facility after the plane landed.
