Irv Gotti's brother has denied reports that Ashanti attended the late hitmaker's funeral.

During his interview with The Breakfast Club on Tuesday, September 30, Chris Gotti revealed how upset he was with the R&B singer after she appeared on Angie Martinez's IRL Podcast earlier this year. He said that he hadn't spoken to Ashanti in person since his brother died in February.

"For her not to call me after Irv's passing," he explained. "She texted me, but that don't feel right. I did everything for them. Never did I get anything in return. Don't count tickets because I can get that myself."

"I don't want to be disrespectful to her because she probably thinks it's all good," he continued. "But she should know better that she had to talk to me physically. Actually, she should just come see me physically. I love Ashanti. That's like little sis, for real, for real. We took care of her."

Irv Gotti passed away on February 5 following a massive hemorrhagic stroke. His family honored his life at a funeral in his hometown of Queens, N.Y. Multiple celebrities attended the funeral, including JAY-Z, Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Vita and others from the Murder, Inc. crew. Various outlets reported that Ashanti also attended the service despite their controversial past. However, according to Chris Gotti, she only sent flowers, which he said was a good gesture.

It took Ashanti a few days to publicly mourn Irv's death on social media. Before he died, the two artists were at odds after Gotti opened up about their romantic relationship in his docuseries about Murder, Inc. About a month after Irv's death, Ashanti sat down with Angie Martinez and said she "extended an olive branch" to Irv before he passed.

“I really wanted it to happen because like I said, we made history together," Ashanti said. "That is infinite. Like, talking about my son – my son is gonna know that we made these records together! I’m sad that the last few years we weren’t seeing eye to eye. What I do know is that I tried. I do know that I extended the olive branch. I just want things to be cool.”
