Former Florida Dean Arrested for Alleged Sexual Exploitation of Students

Ocala, FL - A former dean at Vanguard High School in Ocala has been taken into custody on charges of sexual exploitation of several students.

The arrest occurred on Friday following allegations made by students earlier this month.

According to Ocala police, the students reported multiple instances of inappropriate contact with 42-year-old Gregory Ramputi.

The accusations include groping, requests for students to expose their breasts, and engagement in sex acts with one of the victims.

In one case, Ramputi is said to have asked to see nude photos of a student.

Ramputi faces a series of serious charges, including offenses against students by an authority figure, unlawful sexual activity with certain minors, traveling to meet a minor, indecent, lewd or lascivious touching of certain minors, and possession of child pornography.

The Marion County school district has confirmed that Ramputi was a teacher at North Marion Middle School in 2015 before transferring to Vanguard High School in the same year.

In 2021, he was promoted to the position of student services manager.

Ramputi resigned from his position on May 21.

Ocala police are urging anyone who may have had a similar experience with Ramputi to come forward and contact the department.
