Toddler Shot During Children's Birthday Part At South Florida Playground

Fort Lauderdale, FL - A toddler was shot during a children's party at a South Florida playground on Sunday.

According to Fort Lauderdale Police Department spokeswoman Detective Ali Adamson, officers responded to the Riverland Park & Pool shortly after 4:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting. 

Police arrived to find a two-year-old victim injured amidst the disrupted party scene.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue transported the child as a trauma alert to Broward Health Medical Center, where family members anxiously awaited updates.

The shooting occurred near athletic fields, pools, and local schools, raising concerns within the community.

Fort Lauderdale police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspects involved in Sunday's shooting.
