Longtime MLB manager Jim Leyland who led the Marlins to their first World Series title in 1997 was inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Sunday.

Leyland, 79, nearly cried telling the story about the gift his daughter, Kellie Leyland, gave him before his induction.

She gave her dad with a white handkerchief to wear in his suit pocket and upon opening it during his speech, he found the message, “There’s no crying in baseball.’’

Leyland spent 22 seasons as an MLB manager with the Pirates, Marlins, Rockies and Tigers.
