Miami-Dade Non-Profits Protesting Major Cuts With New Budget

Hundreds of people protesting upcoming budget cuts outside Miami-Dade commission headquarters today. Miriam Singer, President of Jewish Community Services of South Florida, says there's a proposed 30-percent reduction in grants for safety-net services. The twelve-point-nine-billion-dollar-plan includes cuts to charity grants, parks and social-services while hiking transit fares for the first time since 2013. The second budget hearing is set for next week.
