Miami-Dade's Mayor Giving a Countywide Update Ahead of Monday's Start of Hurricane Season. Daniella Levine-Cava is focusing on all types of severe weather as hurricane season begins June 1st.
"We know that extreme weather events are getting more frequent and more intense, and that's why our newly focused Office of Environmental Risk and Resilience is tackling those challenges head on."
She says the office will focus on more than hurricanes. Flooding, extreme heat, and other perils are the focus. She's calling on Floridians to be 'Weather Ready'.
