This story got me heated! A Satellite Beach dog groomer was arrested for animal abuse to a service dog for a Vet with PTSD.
James Cordell Doughy Suthann became angry when TT, an 8-year-old German shepard service dog, would not cooperate while being groomed. When he was unable to get the dog to be still, he grabbed the dog’s tail and lifted him off the ground. This caused TT’s tail to be twisted and broken. Unfortunately it was so bad that the tail needed to be amputated.
After watching the surveillance video... here's what Sherriff Ivey had to say:
“The video is so graphic that I will not post it on Facebook, but trust me when I tell you that it is one of the most difficult things I have ever had to watch in my 39 years of law enforcement because of the horrific and cruel way the pet was treated”.
Suthann faces a felony charge of animal cruelty. He was booked into the Brevard County Jail on Monday and has since posted bond.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Vet and his dog.
