Texting While Driving In The State Of Florida Will Now Be A Primary Offense

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill Friday morning making texting while driving in the state of Florida a primary traffic offense.

Currently, officers can only cite drivers for texting if they are pulled over for another violation. The new law which takes affect June 1st allows police to stop motorists simply for texting alone.
