Inmates Escaped Jail...With Peanut Butter

This bizarre and strange tale of a delicious treat also includes tricking a guard and escaping out from an Alabama prison.

A quote from the Washington Post is almost too crazy to believe:

"Walker County Sheriff Jim Underwood told reporters Monday that the inmates used peanut butter to make the number on one of the cell doors look like the number on a door leading to the outside of the jail. An inmate then asked an unsuspecting jail guard in the control room to open his cell, saying he needed to get back in."

Let's say this again....the over a dozen inmates fooled a new guard into believing that a number on a door leading to freedom, was in fact actually peanut butter.

Face meets palm. And the door probably also met that prison guard...probably.
