SpaceX Falcon 9 Launch From California

Even with SpaceX using parts of the Kennedy Space Center to launch it's Dragon payloads and Falcon Heavy's into space...Elon Musk's company does build the rockets out on the West Coast and starting yesterday evening they are now launching Falcon 9 rockets from the Vandenburg Air Force Base in Southern California.

Many were treated to a spectacular sight in the Los Angeles sky around 7:20 pm last night as the Falcon 9 engines roared overhead and once reaching the upper atmosphere and spectacle of light  was seen below: 

 
 
 

I think what is the coolest part of these time lapse videos, is the return of the booster back down to Vandenburg AFB, which is also the first time a rocket has been returned on the West Coast.

 
 

I'll give you all in California your moment when it comes to this Falcon 9 launch...it was your first and that's cool and all...but we've been kinda perfecting it here on the Space Coast for over 60 years....we got this:
