I know gas prices are a tad high so perhaps road trips aren't on the page for a summer trip...but what about hopping in the car and exploring one of the coolest drives in Brevard County? At the Southern Brevard County border, beachside, is one of the coolest roads you can drive on. Southern A1A is perhaps one of the best hidden gems around because of the views from the ocean and lagoon can, at times, be seen clearer than any other spot on our 72+ mile coast. And it looks like we got the attention of some bloggers over at Only In Florida on Facebook...as we took the TOP SPOT for their list of "Florida Most Beautiful Back Roads":
The Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway is a road I drive down every single day, as I live in South Melbourne Beach just about 7 miles north of the Sebastian Inlet and Causeway. It's a drive I've taken numerous times to either clear my head or just escape from it all. The IG video was from December of 2020 on my way into Melbourne and we had some dense fog later in the morning!
Take a drive down to the Inlet. The views at one point are two lanes of road. On your left, the Atlantic. On your right, the Lagoon! Then head further south to Vero Beach and grab some lunch at Disney's Vero Beach Resort! I'm still dying to go there!
